The Robotics Club of VITCC was conceptualised in 2011 and has been comprised of many enthusiastic and bright students every year.

Bipedal Robot Workshop

A Biped robot replicates legs of a human body, performing all the movement that is possible for humans. Various applications of such robots include: substitution of legs for handicapped people, design of walking and dancing robots, etc.
The Biped Robotics Workshop provides participants with working knowledge on the control and design concepts, and the mechanisms involved in making a Biped Robot.

Make-a-Thon V1.0
Make-a-Thon
Make-a-Thon V1.0 was organised in the university campus on 9th and 10th October under the theme "Wireless Devices and Communication". An overwhelming response was there for the event with 35 teams, the event was a great success .
Machine Vision

A lecture was presented by Dr.Arunachalam, Lead Engineer at GE, Bangalore. Students were taught how images are captured by a camera and how to improve the quality of the capture with respect to the FPS and lighting that can be used for different industry and real time applications.

The club organizes many small hands-on sessions for the inexperienced to learn more about the world of robots, starting from scratch.
THIRUVANAMALAI EVENT
This event was a collaboration of Robotics club with VITeach Club. The
VITeach club goes to a government school of Aannaipirandhan, Thiruvanamalai
on 18.1.18 to make the students of school to realize the importance of Spoken
English. In addition to that they also had an idea to incorporate a robotics
session with their regular schedule. They approached Robotic Club Volunteers
to help them with the task. A volunteer with a set of robotic mechanisms are
sent with them to make the session successful.
The school had students from grade 6th to 10th. But the VITeach members
took care of students from 6th to 8th. The day started with morning prayer and
then the games were started. The students are made to involve in 4 different
types of games which had a small challenge in spoken English. After the games
are done the students were shown a small animated video of rhymes. After that
the Volunteer of Robotics club demonstrated the working of the mechanisms
and the robots. The students were excited to check the robotic mechanisms and
were very interactive for the questions from the volunteers. An 8th grade boy
gave a brief information about the Drone. That was demonstrated there.
AMRITA VISHWA VIDHYAPEETHAM EVENT
The event was held in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru Campus, On 17.2.18 Saturday. The event had a total of 16 registrations and out of which 9 teams were present the event was a knock out type. The losing team will be sent out. The match was set and 1st round won and entered semi-finals as it was only 9 teams. In the semi-finals there was an unfortunate loss and was knocked out. Then the battle for 3rd place was held and the match was won. The team faced a terrible loss of shaft breakage. The people were lucky enough hence that was produced during the last match end. If there was a match after that there are possibilities of very serious accidents which may even cause deaths.
IIT MADRAS EVENT
The event was held in SHAASTRA 18’, IIT MADRAS Campus, On 5.1.18 Friday. The event had a total of 18 registrations event was a knock out type. The losing team will be sent out. We had 2 bots namely ANTI VENOM and BHUVI. The match of ANTI VENOM was set and 1st round won against a drum bot. BHUVI was lost in the first match due to some technical issues in the controller. 2nd match of ANTIVENOM was a win against a Wedge bot. Finals was against a disk bot. after a hard core battle the event was over having ANTI VENOM as the winners. The runners up of 2017 was now the winners of 2018.
